Helping others has always been a passion of mine. As a longtime Redmond resident, I’ve been an elementary school teacher, taught preschool soccer camps, coached youth soccer at Overlake School, volunteered on the board of directors for Northshore Youth Soccer and for Enso Center for the International Arts and helped to raise 4 children.
As a lifelong competitive soccer player and runner, I damaged my knees to the point where I was in constant pain and had 8 different knee surgeries. Rather than living on pain medication I gave acupuncture a try and it worked! It inspired me so much that I decided to go back to school and become an acupuncturist.
I graduated from University of California, Irvine with a BA in Social Ecology. From there, I earned my Master’s Degree from the Seattle Institute of Asian Medicine (http://siom.edu) and am a Licensed East Asian Medical Practitioner.
My training included both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture and bodywork, nutritional therapy, orthopedics, and electro-acupuncture. I’ve taken supplemental coursework in sports medicine, acupuncture injection therapy (AIT), channel theory, NADA training (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) and volunteered on a medical mission to Guatemala through the Integrative Health Project, a non-profit agency where I learned a highly effective auricular diabetic protocol.
I’m also an avid martial artist, having earned a 3rd degree black belt in the Korean martial art of Hapkido and have studied Tai Chi and Qi Gong for over a decade.
Mix Acupuncture is fortunate to be able to collaborate with world renowned martial artist, Master Jason Mix and offer his movement analysis and rehabilitative exercises and Reiki as part of our services.
